The Palo Alto Medical Foundation’s (PAMF) Department of Allergy and Immunology medical team is made up of staff and board-certified doctors known as allergists. They possess expertise in a wide variety of adult and pediatric allergic and related immunologic disorders.

Allergists specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic conditions, such as hay fever, asthma, hives, dermatitis and eczema, and allergic reactions to usually harmless substances, such as foods, animals, drugs, latex, insect stings, pollen, molds and dust mites.

The department physicians are certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI), a conjoint board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Pediatrics. They received certification after undergoing a residency program in either internal medicine or pediatrics. Additionally, they completed two years of fellowship training in allergy/immunology.

The team is active in patient care, research and training of medical professionals. Evaluation and ongoing management of your chronic allergic conditions is the goal of the department.
