In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, PAMF offered several free lectures and events to the public to inform, support, inspire and help navigate the journey of breast cancer detection, treatment and survivorship. Wednesday, October 15: Breast Health Awareness Fair at Fremont Center

PAMF's Fremont Center offers a breast health awareness fair starting at 3 p.m. A variety of activites are scheduled throughout the afternoon and early evening. A special lecture will take place at 7 p.m. entitled "Breast Cancer Today: Current Strategies from Diagnosis to Treatment." The event is free and open to the public.

Scheduled participants include:

  • PAMF Breast Health Navigator Laura Constantine, R.N.
  • HERS Foundation/Bras for Body and Soul
  • Tri-City Health Center Cancer's Detection Program
  • PAMF Cancer Care Dietician Erica Framsted, M.S., R.D.
  • Wellness Meditation Practitioner Anna Tzanova, M.A.
  • Northern California Cancer Center
  • PAMF's employee-volunteer group "Caring Hearts - Knitters for the Cause"
Activites include:

PAMF Oncologist Paula Kushlan, M.D., will give a lecture entitled "Breast Cancer Today: Current Strategies from Diagnosis to Treatment."

Sunday, October 19: Dig for the Cure: PAMF Partners with Stanford Women's Volleyball to Benefit Breast Cancer

Stanford Women's Volleyball is offering PAMF patients and friends discounted tickets to the "Dig for the Cure" Breast Cancer Awareness match on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 12:30 p.m. against its Bay Area rival - the University of California, Berkeley or "Cal."

Both teams reached the NCAA Final Four in 2007 and are ranked in the Top 10 this season, creating an exciting match up. This event is a co-sponsorship between Stanford and PAMF, and proceeds benefit the Susan B. Komen Foundation. Purchase your ticket online or you may also visit the ticket window on game day and present your PAMF newsletter or other printed PAMF item for the $3 general admission ticket.
