At the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, we provide the latest cancer treatment options. PAMF was one of the first outpatient facilities in the United States to offer advanced radiation techniques such as three-dimensional treatment planning and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), PAMF continues to be an early adopter of the most innovative, cost-effective technology that precisely targets the cancer while limiting side effects.

Combined with technology, we partner with you during each stage of your care process, from diagnosis to treatment and beyond, and provide you with comprehensive, integrated, world-class care. This section provides information on the many multidisplinary specialties that work with patients during the treatment process.

  • Surgery -- Information about our General Surgery Department who treat benign and malignant conditions.

  • Chemotherapy/Medical Oncology -- The Medical Oncology Department specialize in the use of medications, such as chemotherapy, hormones and analgesics in the management of cancer.

  • Radiation Oncology -- The Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) Department of Radiation Oncology is recognized as one of the most advanced and highly respected outpatient radiation oncology centers in the United States.

  • Radiosurgery -- Radiosurgery is a non-invasive (no incisions) medical procedure. PAMF's Novalis Tx® radiosurgery system delivers a large but precise dose of radiation to the target.

  • Acupuncture -- The Physical Medicine Department of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Provides acupuncture treatment for cancer patients.

  • Psychosocial Care -- The Cancer Care Clinic's team of providers includes a medical social worker who helps ensure the emotional and psychological needs of our patients, their caregivers and loved ones are met during this difficult time.

  • Nutrition -- Research is increasingly showing that diet can play an important role in helping the body to heal and in reducing some of the negative side effects of cancer treatments. We provide a number of useful handouts on the subject.
