Most people have suffered through several so-called "common colds" in their lives. Your child is equally susceptible to the virus. In fact, children are much more likely to spread germs than adults and are generally at a greater risk for contracting a cold because they are around many other children throughout the day.

You can reduce the risk of your child catching or spreading a cold by teaching him/her to:

  • Wash his or her hands regularly,
  • Not to share food or drinks with other children and
  • To cover his or her mouth when sneezing.
Below you will find more information on colds and other respiratory problems in children.
