Bone Health

Men and women of all ages need to concern themselves with osteoporosis. This silent disease results from years of deficiencies in calcium intake. Prevention of osteoporosis requires knowledge about the disease and a conscious effort to maintain healthy bones. The majority of Americans do not meet the minimal calcium daily requirements to keep their bones healthy and strong. One glass of milk a day is simply not enough! We address osteoporosis with information tailored to men; pre- and post-menopausal women; children, and young adults.

Nutrition and Exercise

Most Americans are not following a healthy diet, nor do they get enough exercise. We provide practical tips to help employees opt for a well-balanced diet and an effective exercise plan. Body-fat testing is available as an optional, complementary service.

Sports and Exercise

Many of our physicians are knowledgeable about habits that can lead to such sports injuries as muscle strains and calf sprains. They can provide valuable advice for the prevention of such injuries. Our Sports and Exercise program focuses on the benefits of a well-balanced exercise regime, and warns about the dangers of engaging in “weekend warrior” activities without proper physical conditioning. Injury prevention and tips for maintaining exercise regimes are introduced.

Skin Care & Cancer Prevention

The bad news is that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in his or her lifetime. The good news is that we can actively reduce our risk by prevention, early detection and treatment. This program provides an overview of skin cancer and skin care, with an emphasis on the importance of taking sun precautions and actively monitoring changes in the skin.

Women's Heart Advantage

Many women think that heart disease primarily affects men - that is not true. In fact, more women die of heart disease than men. It is the #1 killer of women. Materials provided present an overview on how to take steps to prevent heart disease, symptoms of a heart attack and understanding risk factors for heart disease.

Breast Cancer, Detection & Prevention

Breast cancer is the second leading cancer in women, with more than 180,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year. We highlight early detection techniques and provide information on breast self-exams, mammography and support networks. A nurse educator is available to provide additional information and support (three months’ notice required).

The Ever Enduring Foot

The foot works as an organ for locomotion. It is a mobile adapter for the body above; it is used to absorb shock and to cushion various other joints or structures. It also functions at times (or not, in a variety of pathological states) as a rigid lever in the act of propulsion in walking or running. Therein lie many of the varieties of foot problems that affect four out of five of us in the course of an average life span. PAMF’s booth can address the more common foot ailments, interventions, and the importance of a proper shoe fit. A Podiatrist may be available to engage employees in healthy discussions about their feet and what ails them.

Information at Your Fingertips

Adults and teens are increasingly Web-savvy and are using the Internet as a health resource. The vast wealth of knowledge found on the Internet can be as much of an obstacle as an advantage to finding credible, pertinent information. We provide information on how to narrow searches, find what you need and evaluate Web sites for their accuracy of information. We also provide a list of recommended Web sites for researching health and medical information.

Screening Services

We offer medical screening services, including blood-pressure checks and glucose testing. Three-months’ advance notice is optimal, as screening services require coordination of a nurse and/or physician's time. Preventive screenings focus on healthier diets and exercise regimes to prevent and/or control hypertension and diabetes.

Kids Events

In addition to our adult health education themes at health fairs, we also cater to younger audiences with summer safety and bike helmet safety programs. If you have an upcoming event for children, we would be happy to provide these programs for your young group.

Vitality with Age

Exercise and dietary needs change as adults mature. Maintaining a healthy diet and exercise program is critical to helping prevent or control health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity and osteoporosis. This program is tailored for those age 65 and older who are seeking an active, healthy lifestyle.
