Family medicine is the medical specialty which provides continuing and comprehensive health care for each member of the family. A family physician is a doctor who is educated and trained in family medicine. Family physicians possess unique attitudes, skills, and knowledge to provide medical care for any patient, regardless of sex, age or type of problem. At the Los Altos Center, the family doctors have special interests and training in neonatal care and pediatric adolescent medicine, women's health and prenatal care, sports medicine and geriatrics.
