We are here for one reason: to help you be your healthiest. We understand good health is not only measured by being free of illness, but also by reducing your stress level, learning to manage any health challenges you may face, and having the tools and resources to care for you and your family. Our support groups are designed to enhance your health and wellness. They are held at various locations throughout Santa Cruz and open to everyone in the community. We hope these opportunities help you recharge your batteries, improve your health and meet the demands of your busy life.

Diabetes Support Group

Are you looking for a place to meet people like yourself, coming to terms with changes in your life? This support group is led by a Certified Diabetes Educator, where you can ask questions, get information and help support one another. You may pre-register by calling 831-479-6628.

Insulin Pump Support Group

This support group is led by a Certified Diabetes Educator in an environment where you can ask questions, get information and help support one another. We will also have occasional speakers on various topics.

Nar-Anon Family Group

Nar-Anon is a support group for the friends and families of addicts. The group meets Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center's "Sutter Room." For more information, e-mail saveyoursanity@aol.com or call the main numbers listed above.

New Parents Support Group

The Lactation Center at the Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center offers drop-in support groups for all new parents and their new babies. The group will discuss topics such as normal infant /child development, feeding and postpartum adjustments for parents. Resource materials are available at each group. Come join us – babies are always welcome!

Overeaters Anonymous

Overeaters Anonymous (OA) is a non-profit organization. Patterned after the Twelve Step Alcoholics Anonymous program, the OA recovery program addresses physical, emotional and spiritual recovery aspects of compulsive overeating and other eating disorders. Members are encouraged to follow a plan of eating to address the physical problems of eating disorders, and seek peer and professional help for individual diet/nutrition plans and for any emotional or physical problems. The group meets on Sundays at the Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center's "Sutter Room" and provides support to individuals who are following the Twelve Step Program of recovery from the disease.

Women For Sobriety Self-Help Group

This self-help group will learn and practice the "New Life" program from Women For Sobriety, a National self-help program for women. The program teaches women ways in which to cope with life's problems. You will learn ways in which to feel good about themselves. This progam recognizes that women alcoholics' biggest need in recovery is to find self-worth and self-esteem to overcome the debilitating feelings of guilt. Women For Sobriety has self-help groups all across the country, helping women to recover from the devastation of alcoholism. To join this group, contact Suzie Shook at 831-345-8838.
