December 2007

Since its opening earlier this year, PAMF’s Dublin Center has continued to grow to meet the health care needs of individuals in the Tri-Valley area, and offers some of the most innovative services and technology to ensure patients receive the highest quality care.

The 60,000-square-foot Dublin Center – the city’s largest medical facility – has grown from eight physicians when it opened its doors in March to more than 19 physicians providing a variety of services, including family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and urgent care, as well as X-ray and laboratory services.

As part of the Dublin Center’s commitment to meeting the needs of its patients in their own communities, the Center has also opened a newly remodeled satellite office in Livermore at 1258 Concannon Road. Dublin Center physicians Michael Abdel-Malek, M.D., Damayanthi Kalisetti, M.D., Tracy Thompson, M.D., and Raafat Zamary, M.D. – who practiced at this location until joining PAMF earlier this year – will continue providing internal medicine and pulmonary medicine services at the Livermore location, as well as at the Dublin Center.

"We are pleased to continue providing convenient services to our patients in Livermore and ensure they have continuity of care with their longtime physicians while making more services available to them at the Dublin Center," said Paul DeChant, M.D., president of PAMF-Palomares.

Dr. DeChant said all patients of the Dublin Center and Livermore office benefit from the services and state-of-the-art technology provided by PAMF, including an electronic health record (EHR) system and access to PAMF’s e-health service, PAMFOnline; digital imaging services; same-day and next-day appointments with primary care physicians; and a Community Health Resource Center (see below for more information).

The Dublin Center’s staff is also developing a unique team approach to the office visit that allows patients to spend more quality time with their health care providers and less time waiting. When a patient arrives at the clinic for an appointment, a medical assistant (M.A.) or nurse greets the patient and immediately escorts him or her to an exam room. Then, the patient’s medical history is taken and his or her EHR is updated. The M.A. remains with the patient until the physician arrives. While the physician examines and treats the patient, the M.A. records the appointment in the patient’s EHR along with any lab work, X-rays or prescriptions the physician orders.

The PAMF Dublin Center is part of PAMF-Palomares, which serves patients in the Tri-Valley area, as well as Castro Valley and San Leandro. The Center is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
