FDA Advises Consumers to Inspect and Discard Toothpaste Made in China


The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers to inspect any toothpaste labeled "Made in China" for the presence of a substance commonly used as antifreeze, diethylene glycol (DEG), also known as diglycol or diglycol stearate. Please throw away any toothpaste found to contain any of these substances. Although no illness have been reported, this chemical could possibly cause children or individuals with liver or kidney problems to become sick if they ingest the toothpaste.
