Media Policy and Guidelines
In accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), health care providers are responsible for protecting the privacy and confidentiality of their patients and their personal information. Because of HIPAA and other special circumstances in the health care field, it is important that media representatives work directly with the Palo Alto Medical Foundation's (PAMF) Department of Public Affairs for any requests they may have. Below is additional information to assist journalists, reporters and photographers in working with PAMF's Public Affairs Department.
