What Is New at the Research Institute?
NEW Testing Schedule effective March 1, 2007
Serology Tests
IgG (Dye test), IgM ELISA, IgM ISAGA, IgA ELISA, IgE ELISA, AC/HS, Avidity
Specimens received by noon (PST) on Monday and Wednesday will be tested that day, with verbal results available by 3 p.m. (PST) the following day.
NEW:
additional test day on Thursday for IgG (Dye test), IgM ELISA, and Avidity
Specimens received by noon on Thursday will be tested that day, with verbal
results available by 3 p.m. (PST) the following day.
PCR
NEW: additional test day on Monday in addition to Wednesday testing
Specimens must be received before noon on Friday or Tuesday to be included
on Monday or Wednesday test runs, respectively.
REDUCED turnaround-time for results reports effective March 1, 2007
NEW: Final reports are now available and mailed every Monday, in addition to Wednesday and Friday. A copy of the final report is available by fax upon request. Final reports are mailed 3 to 4 business days after initial testing of the sample.
REVISED Requisition Forms effective March 1, 2007
2) Testing in Newborns and Infants (1 year of age or younger)
NOTE: The Toxoplasma Infant Panel will only include tests for IgG (Dye test),
IgM ISAGA, and IgA ELISA. We are discontinuing IgE antibody testing in newborns
since this test has not proved to be diagnostically useful in our laboratory.
3) Testing in Non-Pregnant Adults and Older Children (more than 1 year of age)
